JACH HomeCare was founded by Juan Cortez, and its name —  JACH  — comes from his full name: Juan Alfonso Cortez Hurtado. His approach to caregiving has been deeply shaped by family, lived experience, and a lifelong respect for the dignity of others.

 

Raised by his grandmother, Juan learned early on the values of patience, quiet strength, humility, and love expressed through action. Her life and example became a lasting influence on the way he understands care.

 

Juan’s professional journey into caregiving began after many years working in hotel and motel management, when an unexpected opportunity led him to care for a 94-year-old man named Bob Shotwell in a skilled nursing facility. Through that experience, he discovered not just a new job, but a true calling in caring for older adults.

 

Today, JACH HomeCare reflects those roots — combining heartfelt compassion with dependable, personalized support for every client and family served.
